Escape to Beechenhurst this summer and immerse your family in the heart of the majestic Forest of Dean, one of Britain’s oldest and largest woodlands. 

Wyedean Canoe & Adventure

Wyedean Canoe & Adventure Centre specialise in canoe hire and watersport adventures on the River Wye. Located in Symonds Yat East. Great adventure.

Mallards Pike

Escape to this stunning lakeside setting, with great cycling, running and walking routes. There is also Go-Ape high ropes and Segway tours.

Puzzlewood

An ancient, magical forest which has served as a filming location, most notably the Star Wars franchise and Doctor Who. Twisted trees, moss-covered rocks, JR Tolkien was a frequent visitor and it is said the inspiration for the fabled landscapes of ‘Middle Earth’ in Lord of the Rings.

Dean Heritage Centre

A museum and outdoor heritage site that tells the story of the Forest of Dean – from ancient geology and Roman mining to traditional woodland life and modern industry. The centre is a must-see in the Forest of Dean. There’s something for everyone to discover.

Pedalabikeaway

The main hub for every cyclist: casual riders, mountain bikers, people wanting gentle trails, and those wanting technical descents. With direct access to scenic and adventurous woodland trails located at the start and finish of every cycling trail in the Forest of Dean.

Severn Cider

A family run award winning artisan cider and perry maker, making whole juice, draught and bottled ciders and perry using locally grown apples and pears. The cider mill is situated on the banks of the River Severn in Awre. Tours are available.

Hopewell Colliery

At Hopewell Colliery you can take a Guided Underground Tour in the safe hands of an expert Freeminer of the Forest of Dean. Celebrating the past, present and future of this unique way of life in the Forest of Dean. Be sure to check opening dates.

Clearwell Caves

Walk in the footsteps where ancient miners worked, through atmospheric caverns and complex tunnels. A visitor site with show caves, guided and self guided routes, and more adventurous deeper cave experiences.
